The most beautiful hike I’ve ever been on. Challenging, extremely steep, and with a backdrop straight out of a fantasy a la Lord of the Rings. The glaciers and Mountain vistas were simply spectacular! Worth all the suffering, but not for the faint of heart! Not a hike for beginners!!

Longer walk , absolutely beautiful. Specially if you're in love with glaciers ❤️ Worth to go. I'll say , must go ! Make sure that you are prepared for conditions. Might be very sunny , but much colder in the forest , high exposure on open parts - read ✓ strong wind , ice hiding on the rocks to ... Remember don't play on the glacier, this is not a playground ! ! ! It's not safe !

Arguably the best hike in Chamonix if you're fit enough to make it to the top. The rewards for your efforts are huge, the views from la Jonction are breathtaking. You can cut around 300m elevation gain if you use the télésiege, it will leave you around 1400m to climb. The first half, to the Chalet des Pyramides is easy, gradient is steady and low and you can easily keep your pace. Some of the hikers finish here, you can have a modest lunch in the chalet, the view on the Bossons glacier is majestic. The second half is tougher as the path becomes much steeper and in some places requires some basic climbing skills. But I've seen even 8-9 yo deal with it with no problem. The children were clearly already experienced hikers despite their age. It took me just under 3 hours to climb to la Jonction from the télésiege arrival point.

Spectacular alpine experience requiring a lot of physical effort. Key advice: - prepare physically - elevation gain of 1600 meters is exceptional - take a lot of water - there's no fresh water on the trail and you can only buy some in the les piramides chalet (2.50 euro for 0.5 liter bottle) - avoid big backpacks - it would take your breath away on the steep parts of the trail - take good trekking poles - they will rescue your knees, especially on the way down, and will support well your balance on the rocky paths - take good sunglasses and sunscreen to avoid sunburn - take some good food to eat at the top - the view of the glacier tastes better with a good sandwich 😋 Good luck!

Amazing hike. First quarter not too bad, last three quarters steep, and physically demanding. Takes about 8 to 9 hours round trip depending on your level. Bring alot of water and some food. The view at the top is well worth the suffering.

Really great walk from the top of the Les Bosson chairlift (€14 return, last one 5:30 ish), expect the hike to take 5-7hrs with stops as you will be ascending almost the entire journey (3/4ish hours). Up and back for me was 13km with a total of 1,300m elevation. I would recommend a good level of fitness and gear can be minimal in nice weather. The ground is uneven so bring good shoes, a good amount of the walk is in the shade but hat/glasses recommended on sunny day. Amazing views of some 4000m peaks once you get there and the glacier is literally touchable (but I would not recommend going on there without appropriate gear as you do not know where the crevasses might be and how deep they are.) Cool but mostly sad to hear the glacier cracking and see parts falling away.. this will decrease year after year so worth the visit..

Climbed there early September through a less known route instead of the touristic one. Gorgeous hike, especially with the fresh first snow of the season that we were so lucky to have.
